Participants should carry own health and travel insurance.

Deposits are non-refundable as they are used to pre-book all reservations and accommodation.

Liability waivers and supporting documentation must be submitted with final payment. Papers will be issued upon deposit or earlier upon request via email.

Round trip flights should be booked to San Jose, Costa Rica – Juan Santamaria Intl (SJO) airport

We can book your flights if you are more comfortable with that.

Total trip cost - $1,700 + your airfare

Day 1: 

·      Guide picks up rental vehicle

·      Group Members arrive in San Jose Costa Rica throughout the day and get picked up at airport by RWE guide and taken to accommodation.

·      Have the afternoon to explore Alajuela, go to park, shopping areas

·      Group opening dinner: Jalapenos Central

            Accommodation:

Day 2:

·      7:30 am, group leaves Alajuela, travels to Manuel Antonio

· Stop at Rainmaker Reserve to do a tour. This includes wildlife, waterfalls, hanging bridges, and rivers

·      Upon arrival, check in to Hostel with opportunities to swim in ocean, hang out on white sand beaches, walk through mangroves, low tide ocean tour by RWE guide to look for unique marine life including soft corals, crabs, snails, crocs and monkeys.

·  Jet Ski tours available off beach

·      Dinner (La Costa)

             Accommodation: Millennium Hostel

Day 3:

·      All day hiking in Manuel Antonio to see crocs, sloths, Monkeys, lizards, snakes, insects and birds (7:00 am to 4:00 pm)

·      Lunches packed for park - DO NOT FEED MONKEYS (They are damn sneaky)

             Accommodation: Millennium Hostel

Day 4:

·      7:00 am, leave for Rainmaker Wildlife Reserve to see dart frogs, birds, snakes, primary rainforest and use jungle canopy walkways to see upper canopy. Many waterfalls with small swimming pools exist here, bring your bathing suits!

·   Lunches provided at reserve center

·   Dinner at El Avion

·   Night Hike in Rainmaker Wildlife Reserve to look for masked tree frogs, snakes and various insects.

·   After hike, drink locally brewed beer at reserve 

         Accomodation: Millennium Hostel 

Day 5:

·      7:00 am, drive to Monteverde - stop at crocodile bridge and stop near (not in) Carara National Park to see wild macaws.

·      Check in with Monteverde Institute and tour facility - Learn about sustainability and conservation issues facing Costa Rica

·      Dinner at research station

·      Night hike in rainforest to look for frogs and learn about flash photography.

·  Accommodation: Monteverde Research Center

Day 6:

·  Morning setting and checking bird nets at Monteverde Institute

·  Check out of MVI

·  Go eat ice cream at Cheese and Ice Cream Factory

    Accommodation: Cabanas La Pradera    

Day 7:

·   Breakfast in cabina  

·   8:00 am Morning zip line and repelling excursion through EXTREMO Canopy Tours

·  Lunch (Santa Elena)

·     Afternoon Selvatura Reserve - hiking the hanging bridges in cloud forest, butterfly gardens and hummingbird gardens.

Accomodation:  Cabanas La Pradera·     

Day 8:

·    Breakfast in cabina 

·      8:00 am visit Curi Cancha Reserve, great birding including largest populations of quetzals in the world.

·      Afternoon drive to La Fortuna

·      Check in to hostel, dinner, go to hot springs to swim (Bring Bathing Suit).

Day 9:

·    8:00 am white water rafting tour in La Fortuna

·      Afternoon visit to La Fortuna Falls to swim - Bring bathing suit.

·      More hot springs if your feeling it.

Accommodation: La Fortuna Backpackers

Day 10:

·     Afternoon head to San Jose.

·     Souvenir shop at the tiendas close by to the hostel

    Accomodation: Costa Rica Backpackers

Day 11                                                                                                                                                                            

·      Drive people to the airport for departures.
